Theater Show Survey
We need your input on the possibility of a
Grand Parade playing a special Theater Show in the Spring of 2010!
Over the years, a number of you have enthusiastically suggested that Grand Parade put on a full theater show open to all ages, along with various things such as enhanced lighting, two drum kits, premium package option, etc.
We'd love to be able to put put a show like this together, but we need to know your opinion on the idea to ensure we can make it happen. So, we've created a survey to let you tell us what you want!
The survey will only take a couple of minutes to complete and includes questions about when you would like the show to take place, price, which Genesis song you'd most like to hear, and an area for any other comments you'd like to make.

Click HERE to give us your input!

A message from Jay...

Thank you for the get well wishes, emails, and guest book entries. In the middle of October I made an awkward lift at work which severely strained a few lower back muscles. The injury laid me flat on my back for two weeks. With the help of medication, physical therapy, and some time to heal, I’m hoping see the band at rehearsal after the holidays.

In 2009 we look forward to presenting the entire Foxtrot album and mixing in a few choice classic long cuts. Thank you all for your concern and continued support. Enjoy the holidays! We’ll see you in the New Year.

Thanks to everyone who came to our Shank Hall show on June 21st and thanks also to Mel Levy from Breeze Productions for filming the show.

Now that our spring shows are complete, the band will take a couple months off to learn some new songs. We also wish heart-felt congratulations to Roey and his lovely wife Roni, who are expecting in late July! But Grand Parade will return this fall with a new show that will include the entire Foxtrot album as well as a few other songs for which we've been receiving requests.

As Grand Parade approaches its 10 year anniversary, we'd like to take this opportunity to once again thank each of you for your continued support and friendship over the years.

Guitarists - Looking for a Shaftesbury Duo-Fuzz?
A quick note for guitarists who are looking for the classic Hackett "buzz saw" tone used on songs like The Return of the Giant Hogweed, Supper's Ready and Fly on a Windshield (just to name a few). Jeff has found what he believes to be the ultimate Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz / Univox Superfuzz reproduction - the Wattson Classic Superfuzz! Check out this great pedal and tell Jim at Wattson that Jeff sent you!

May 5,2008

Hi everyone! First and foremost, Grand Parade would like to thank everyone who came out to Mickey Finn's on Saturday night. We saw several new faces in the crowd along with many old friends we haven't seen for quite a while, so welcome to all the new comers and thanks to everyone who came out to support the band! It was great to see everyone have such a great night together sharing the Genesis music we all love.

As I'm sure some of you noticed, there was a guy running around with a video camera on Saturday night. That was Mel Levy, from Breeze Productions. Along with the Mickey Finn's show, Mel will be filming our upcoming show at Shank Hall in Milwaukee on June 21st. For Shank Hall - our final show until the fall - we're excited to announce that we will be using our new enhanced visual production! So come join us in Milwaukee for what we hope will be a very special show!
After Shank Hall, the band will be heading back into rehearsals for the fall shows, which will include many of the song requests we've been getting from you. We'll wait for a while to let you know about the new songs (that's half the fun, isn't it?), but fans of the "really old songs" and some of the rarely or never played later 70's songs won't want to miss it!
Thanks again everyone! Your support keeps us going! See everyone on June 21st at Shank Hall in Milwaukee!

Grand Parade would like to thank everyone who attended our first show at Otto's in DeKalb, Illinois. This show was a milestone in Grand Parade history. It was our first show ever to include music from Duke, the album many consider to be the last album Genesis made that had strong progressive elements. Next, the Otto’s show was our first to include some of the special effects lighting our lighting technician, Steve, and his brother John Tomczyk have been working on. We'd also like to welcome Dale Dooley to our lighting crew. Great job guys!

Our next show is right around the corner at Mickey Finn’s on May 3rd. We hope the Mickey Finn’s show will prove to be a more intimate and personal environment to see a Grand Parade show. The show starts at 8pm!

So thanks, once again, for coming out to support the band. See everyone May 3rd!

March / April 2008
Hello everyone! Our next set of shows are right around the corner, so it's time for a news update.
As you can see, we have booked several shows fairly close together. Since in the past that would be unusual for us, we thought now would be a good time to fill everyone in on our future plans. Moving forward, we have decided to start booking two sets of shows a year – one in the spring and one in the fall. Each set of shows will be booked in locations around Chicago, Milwaukee, and the Rockford area. So, we will take the Grand Parade show to you, instead of you having to travel long distances to see us. Each "mini-tour" will contain new songs as well as the Genesis standards we all love. Please feel free to email us with the songs you'd like to hear.
In other news, we are excited to announce that Gary Hill has written feature on Grand Parade on the Rockford area entertainment web site beetcafe.com.
Gary publishes a great online magazine called Music Street Journal that focuses heavily on progressive music. Please take the time to check out Gary’s site when you get a chance. Also, here’s a great video overview of Gary’s site.

January 2008 - Thank you from Grand Parade
Grand Parade would like to thank everyone for braving the arctic air and subzero wind chill to join us at Shank Hall on January 19th. It was so great seeing our old friends who came up from the Chicago area and making so many new friends from all over Wisconsin and the greater Midwest! Your dedication to this music we all love made our first show outside the Chicago area a resounding success. We hope that everyone had a good time – we certainly know we did!
As some of you may have noticed, this was our first show with our new live team. Scot Goodrich (sound) and Steve Tomczyk (lights) did a great job! So, thank you and welcome to the band, guys! In the future, we anticipate leveraging the knowledge and skills of our new team members to create more exciting and entertaining show for everyone.
We’d also like to thank Shank Hall, along with the Milwaukee press, for doing such a great job getting the word out, and special thanks to the Shank Hall staff for helping to make the show such an enjoyable evening for the band as well as the audience. We will definitely be back!
As always, we thank everyone for coming out to support the band. See everyone at the next show!

October 2007
Wow - what a night! The band would like to thank everyone for coming out to Mickey Finn's Saturday night for our first show in two years. We'd also like to thank Glen Murschel for doing a great job opening the show!
It was a very very special evening for us! The sound was great, the band was feeling good, and it was one of the larger audiences we've ever had. But it was your enthusiasm and support that really made the show! It was great to see several old friends and we were so pleased to meet so many first timers. You really packed that place! Thank you for hanging with us the entire night.  You have our gratitude, for without you we wouldn't have the opportunity to play this wonderful music we all love!  Many thanks!
See everyone in January at Shank Hall in Milwaukee. More shows to be booked soon, so keep an eye on the web site for details.
